Lexington Two names new principal for Alternative Academy

West Columbia, SC 03/23/2022 - New Bridge Academy will have a new principal for the 2022-2023 school year.

Elaine Lundy, who currently serves as assistant principal at Cayce Elementary, has been named to the top job at the district’s alternative school. The hire was recommended by Lexington Two Superintendent Dr. Nicolas Wade and approved by the Board of Trustees at its meeting last month.

"Here in Lexington Two we are continuing to build our internal capacity at meeting the growing diverse needs of our students, and, sometimes, because of those needs, our students have moments of difficulty that impact their ability to learn. Ms. Lundy has history in and knowledge of our district, is fully aware of what these challenges are, and has a commitment at doing what is right and best for each of our students," Superintendent Dr. Nicolas Wade said.

Prior to arriving at Cayce Elementary in 2016, Lundy served in Lexington Two as ABA coordinator and transition specialist and, before that, as a special education teacher. She also served as director of Camp GG for more than 12 years. Lundy received a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University and master’s degrees from Grand Canyon University and Columbia College.

"I am so excited to join the New Bridge Academy family,” Lundy said. “My goal is for our school to be a place where we value all students, form positive relationships, and help students grow to their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally."

Lundy will begin her new role on July 1.
