Lexington, SC 12/17/2022 (Paul Kirby) - Emergency responders from Lexington County’s EMS, the fire service, and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a structural collapse in the 100 block of Able Harmon Lane off Yachting Road north of Lexington Saturday afternoon. Calls regarding this emergency began coming into the Lexington County 911 Emergency Center shortly after 1:00 p.m.
According to Lexington County’s Spokesperson Jessica Imbimbo, a gathering that included a number of people was taking place at a home on Able Harmon Lane. Some of the group were standing on an elevated deck attached to a home taking photographs when a portion of the deck collapsed. Eight people were reported to be injured as a result of incedent. The exact extent of their injuries was still being evaluated at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The cause of the decks collapse is still under investigation.
