Swansea, SC 10/28/2024 (Paul Kirby) – One man has died following a 2-vehicle collision northwest of Swansea Sunday afternoon. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), the crash happened at approximately 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of SC Hwy. 6 and Martin Neese Road on October 27, 2024.
According to the SCHP and Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, 68-year-old Marion Phillip Glymph of Lexington was travelling north on Martin Neese Road when he disregarded the traffic sign, proceeded out onto SC Hwy. 6, and was hit by another vehicle traveling east toward Swansea. Glymph, who was wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision. Two people who were in the other vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the SCHP continue to investigate this deadly incident.
