Pine Ridge Police Department organizing post Hurricane Helene supply drive

Pine Ridge, SC 10/01/2024 (Paul Kirby) - The Pine Ridge Police Department (PRPD) is organizing an immediate supply drive to assist those impacted by Hurricane Helene in South Carolina.

Donations can be dropped off at Pine Ridge Town Hall located at 2757 Fish Hatchery Road, West Columbia, SC during normal business hours. Those hours are 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Last week, Hurricane Helene came through Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina leaving a trail of destruction that has been described as biblical. One western North Carolina newspaper reporter said that the communities near Ashville looked like scenes he had witnessed in Ukraine after Russia invaded them.

The supplies gathered by the PRPD will be distributed in South Carolina. Items on their list can be used by citizens starting over after the flooding and wind damage. What they are looking for is on the attached list.
