Investigators who worked on this case had published a photo of Shaw on social media several times. It was posted again on January 13, 2025, and afterward, police received tips that led them to Shaw. He was returned to his home by police shortly after he was located.

Police say that Shaw was in good health when he was found and returned to his family. They are considering Shaw a runaway and do not suspect he was being held against his will.
