Wednesday, March 26th, 2025 – River Bluff High School is proud to announce the appointment of Perry Parks as the new head varsity football coach. Parks was approved for this position by the Lexington One School Board during their March 25th regular monthly board meeting. He will become the 3rd Head Football Coach in River Bluff High School history. Parks brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success at both the high school and collegiate levels. His leadership, dedication to player development, and passion for the game make him the perfect fit to lead the Gators into a new era of excellence.

Coach Parks has an extensive coaching background, most recently serving as the wide receivers coach at Coastal Carolina University. Prior to his time at Coastal Carolina, he spent one season as the wide receivers coach at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Before that, he was the head coach at Ridge View High School, where he transformed the program into a consistent competitor, leading the team to multiple playoff appearances, including a 2019 4A Upper State Championship game appearance. His tenure at Ridge View also saw him named the 2016 South Carolina 4A Coach of the Year.

With a coaching career spanning over a decade, Parks has also held head coaching positions at Lakewood High School and served as an offensive coordinator at several Georgia high schools. His ability to build successful programs, develop student-athletes, and foster a winning culture has been evident throughout his career.

A former standout player himself, Parks played collegiately at Coastal Carolina University, where he was a team captain and a key contributor to multiple Big South Conference Championship teams. His deep understanding of the game, combined with his experience as both a player and coach, makes him a valuable asset to the River Bluff community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Perry Parks to River Bluff High School,” said Andrew Peckham, Director of Athletics. “His leadership, experience, and commitment to excellence align perfectly with our vision for the football program. We are confident that he will inspire and develop our student-athletes both on and off the field.”

River Bluff High School and its athletic department are excited about this new chapter and look forward to our continuous growth and success under Coach Parks’ leadership.

Parks and his wife Katie have three children: sons Boaz and Zoren, and a daughter Lola.
