Lexington, SC 02/06/2025 - River Bluff High School announced today that Blair Hardin has officially resigned as head coach of the River Bluff football team, effective today, Thursday, February 6, 2025.
Coach Hardin stated that after nearly two decades of being a head football coach, the last eight of which have been at the helm of River Bluff’s program, he made the incredibly difficult decision to step down from coaching football to spend more time with his wife and three young girls.
An integral part of the River Bluff athletics community, Coach Hardin has demonstrated leadership, dedication, and commitment to student-athlete success. Under his guidance, the program has grown both on and off the field, exhibiting the values of hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship that he instilled in his players.
“We sincerely appreciate Coach Hardin’s contributions to Gator football and the River Bluff community,” said Jacob Smith, Principal of River Bluff High School. “Blair’s influence goes far beyond the scoreboard—his dedication to shaping the character and leadership of our student-athletes will leave a lasting mark on our school. He is a man of integrity, and his impact will be deeply missed.”
“It is obvious that Coach Hardin truly cares about his players and has done his very best to set a positive example for all of them.” said Andrew Peckham, Director of Athletics of River Bluff High School. “Blair has always treated his players, assistant coaches, and peers with utmost respect and professionalism. We are grateful for all he has done for our program and wish him nothing but the best in the future.”
The school will immediately begin the search for the next head football coach. River Bluff remains committed to maintaining a strong and competitive football program, and appreciates the support of the Lexington community during this transition.
