South Congaree, SC 01/18/2024 (Paul Kirby) – Officials with the South Congaree Police Department have made an arrest in the recent armed robbery that took place several weeks ago. Investigators allege that Kenneth Faison from the West Columbia area walked in to the 76 station and c-store at Pine and Main on January 2, 2024, presented a handgun, and made of with an undisclosed amount.
Police have charged Faison with armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Police released much clearer photos of Faison’s getaway car this week and Police Chief Josh Shumpert said that they quickly began receiving tips about the location of the car and who drove it. Chief Shumpert said, “We want to thank the public for the tips that led to his arrest.”
The suspect is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
