Lexington County, SC 07/21/2022 (Paul Kirby) – The Dixie Softball Ponytails X Play Girls’ softball team recently won the 2022 South Carolina State Championship. Now these girls are headed to the World Series in Louisiana on July 29, 2022, to represent the state of South Carolina.
These girls started playing t-ball together when they were 5 or 6 years old. Over the years, they have come together as a cohesive, successful team and in both 2021 and 2022 they advanced to the Dixie Softball State Championships. They currently play in the12U X-Play division.
In order for the girls to defray their travel expenses, the team has put together a hamburger supper. It will be held on Sunday, July 24th, 2022, from 4 until 7:00 p.m. Plates are $10 each and include chips, baked beans, and a cold drink. There will also be a bake sale happening at the same time. You do not have to buy your tickets in advance, they are available at the door. The hamburger supper will be held in the Family Life Center of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church which is located at 102 E Butler Ave in Saluda, SC.
