Lexington, SC 11/13/2024 - The Do it Best Foundation announces their latest distribution of $112,597 in grants to organizations focused on building a brighter future for kids and families in the communities where the Do it Best team lives, works, and plays. That distribution includes a $5,000 grant to Senior Resources to promote independent living for seniors by providing nutritional food through the Meals on Wheels program.
Since 1967, the organization has been committed to providing comprehensive services that enable seniors to remain in their home, delaying or preventing institutionalization. "At Senior Resources, we deliver more than a meal - we are a lifeline for older adults in our community,” said Becky Morrison, director of development. “By providing essential support like meals, transportation, and companionship, we empower seniors to live independently and with dignity. This support helps to ensure that our seniors receive nutritious meals, a friendly visit, and the care they deserve. Every meal delivered strengthens our community, and this grant helps us continue our mission to improve the lives of seniors, one meal at a time."
“Providing food security is central to our mission at the Do it Best Foundation,” said Scott Smith, general manager of the Do it Best warehouse in Lexington. “Through staff pledges and fundraisers, we’ve collected the funds needed to meet this grant request. Our team knows that we can provide a brighter future for others because of this support to Senior Resources.” Since its founding in 2019, the Do it Best Foundation has distributed over 125 grants totaling $1.4 million. The Lexington community also received grant support for Mission Lexington. Applications for eligible 501(c)(3) organizations are accepted through November 22 by visiting doitbestfoundation.org.
