Town of Irmo holding community meeting regarding new town hall

Irmo, SC 02/14/2025 – The Town of Irmo is having an Open House to introduce residents to the highly anticipated New Irmo Town Hall Project! This special event will take place on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Irmo Municipal Building, 7300 Woodrow Street.

This is an exciting time for the Town of Irmo as we are beginning a transformative project to construct a state-of-the-art, 10,000-square-foot municipal facility. This new building will be a game-changer, providing a modern, accessible, and efficient space for town offices including Human Resources, Business Licensing, Finance, Permitting, Administrator’s Office, and Communications. Additionally, the new Town Hall will feature a dedicated community space, available for meetings, training sessions, receptions, and special events.

The project is estimated to cost approximately $5.8 million, with nearly $3 million in financial assistance coming from both the State Budget and Congress helping to make this vision a reality. This investment in Irmo’s future will provide a secure, functional, and future-ready home for municipal services while addressing ADA accessibility, energy efficiency, and security enhancements.

For the past 35 years, Irmo’s town government has been housed in a historic Victorian-style home built in 1905, which was relocated to its current site in 1988. While this facility has served the community well, it struggles to meet the demands of Irmo’s growing population, lacks modern infrastructure, and is not designed to support the evolving needs of the town’s administration of services.

This new facility will continue to make Irmo shine.

Join the community during this meeting and Be Part of Irmo’s Future!
