West Columbia, SC 01/07/2025 (Paul Kirby) – Investigators with the West Columbia Police Department say they are looking for a help finding a second suspect in a shooting incident that happened on December 28, 2024, at the Bojangles which is located at 12th Street and Augusta Road. They already have an 18-year-old suspect in jail that has been charged with 2 counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and criminal conspiracy.

According to police, Marterius Byrd, 18, who was an employee at the Bojangles, fired multiple shots from a handgun through the drive-thru window striking several people who were outside. After Byrd fired at the victims, he jumped through the window of the drive-thru and ran away. The victims received non-life-threatening injuries. Byrd was arrested and booked into the Lexington County Detention Center on New Years Day. He has been denied bond.
